Vallejo Surface Primer German Red Brown 18ml 70.605

A deep, brownish-red primer matching RAL 8012 Rotbraun, the standard anti-rust primer applied to German armoured vehicles before the application of camouflage coats. Used when modelling worn, chipped, or heavily weathered vehicles where the primer layer shows through the topcoat, or when building late-war and factory-fresh schemes where Rotbraun was used directly as a field colour. The same reference colour as Burnt Red in the Model Color range, making it straightforward to continue the scheme with Model Color paints once the primer coat is dry.

About Vallejo Surface Primer: Vallejo Surface Primer is a water-based polyurethane formula that can be applied directly by brush or airbrush and works on all standard model surfaces including plastic, resin, PVC, white metal, brass, and wood. The primer is self-levelling, dries to a matte finish, and forms a film of extraordinary hardness and resistance once fully cured without obscuring fine surface detail. It can be diluted with water or Vallejo Airbrush Thinner for airbrush use, and applied undiluted by brush. The colours in the range are matched to common basecoat tones, allowing the primer to serve as both a ground coat and a first layer of colour in a single application.

Technical: Water-based polyurethane. Shake well before use. Apply by brush or airbrush. For airbrush use: 15-20 PSI (0.5-1 kg) with a 0.3mm or larger nozzle. Apply in thin coats and allow each coat to dry fully before applying the next. Thins with water or Vallejo Airbrush Thinner. Cleans up with water. 18ml dropper bottle.
